The story behind 2nd Innings
I'm Aman Gupta, 27, and I work in the banking sector in Indore.
Every day at work, I see two kinds of people. Young colleagues like me — energetic, ambitious, but hungry for guidance we can't afford. And senior citizens who walk into the branch — sharp, experienced, and quietly retired from a system that decided they were 'done'.
One conversation changed everything. A retired 62-year-old customer once helped me solve a compliance problem in ten minutes — something my whole team had been stuck on for a week. He said, "Beta, I did this for 30 years. I'd love to keep doing it, but nobody is asking."
That sentence stayed with me for months.
India has over 120 million retired professionals — CFOs, teachers, engineers, marketers, doctors, lawyers. They aren't retired from ambition. They're just retired from the payroll. And on the other side, millions of founders, small businesses and young professionals like me need exactly the kind of wisdom these seniors have built over 30+ years.
I built 2nd Innings on nights and weekends to bridge this gap. A trusted, verified marketplace where experience meets ambition, and where every senior can start a second innings that's more meaningful than the first.
This isn't a job board. It's a movement to restore dignity, purpose and income to India's most under-valued asset — the wisdom of those who came before us.
If you're a retired professional, this platform is my thank-you letter to you. If you're a founder or a professional seeking mentorship, this is my gift to you. Welcome to 2nd Innings.
